Overview
Since embarking on our ambitious Canada & the World project in 2002, Canada25 has held events across the country and abroad, and has engaged hundreds of young Canadians in discussions about the future of Canada's role in the world. Read more about the people and the process here. A synthesis of our ideas can be found in our report From Middle to Model Power - we hope that you will find it to be fresh, provoking and compelling. We welcome your feedback at canworld@canada25.com.

From Middle to Model Power: Recharging Canada’s Role in the World
"Canada and the World" Going Forward ...
Our work does not end here. We need your help to test our ideas with Canadian citizens at home and abroad - community groups, professors, businesspeople, political leaders, NGO managers, community groups, students, expatriate workers, new Canadians and other concerned citizens. There are several upcoming ways to formally become involved:

  • National Launch of From Middle to Model Power. Join us to hear speakers, mingle with National Forum delegates and other Canada25 members, have some refreshments and find out more about upcoming opportunities in your local Canada25 chapter! We are in the process of planning events in many of our other chapters. Information about these events will be posted here once available.
    • Montreal, Nov. 4th
    • Toronto, Nov. 30th at the Munk Centre for International Studies at 6:30 p.m. (contact toronto@canada25.com for more details)

  • Policy Forums. Presented jointly with the Canadian Institute of International Affairs (CIIA) , this series of policy forums will explore, in depth, various topics discussed in From Middle to Model Power.
    1. November 8th, Toronto: Forum for Toronto high school students at Royal Canadian Military Institute
    2. December 2004, Ottawa: Panel discussion and media conference to discuss both DFAIT's International Policy Review and From Middle to Model Power
    3. March 2005, Halifax: Canada25 Forum to be held in conjunction with CIIA's annual policy conference - details to come

  • Media Outreach. We need your help to tell potentially interested members of the media about our ideas. Please contact external communications director Jonathan Dunn (jondunn17@yahoo.ca) or Canada25 Executive Director Andrew Medd (amedd@canada25.com), who are coordinating our media efforts.

  • Other Chapter Events. Please contact your local Chapter leader for other local events! Find your chapter here: http://www.canada25.com/chapters.html.
