Policy Overview Page
Canada25 brings together young Canadians with a passionate commitment to solving the problems and challenges confronting their communities and their country. We believe that young people bring a unique and invaluable perspective to Canada’s ongoing public policy debates – a perspective that is too often overlooked by policymakers in government, business, academia and the not-for-profit arena.
Since its inception, Canada25 has been committed to developing and advocating innovative public policy solutions. We have brought young Canadians together from across the country and around the world to address the issues facing our country and our generation, and we want you to join our debate.
Although each of these topics is distinct, they all meet a key set of criteria. In fact, before any policy issue is chosen, it has to meet six key tests:
- The topic relevant to people ages 20 – 35
- The topic has broad appeal to the entire population
- The topic is not politically biased and can be analyzed from a non-partisan viewpoint
- The topic allows Canada25 to contribute to the debate by developing a unique answer
- The topic allows Canada25 to develop solutions that can be acted on by Canada25 and other non-governmental organizations
- The topic will generate interest amongst the members of Canada25 and our external stakeholders
