As an organization committed to bringing the voices and ideas of Canadians aged 20-35 to our nation’s public policy discourse and taking action on issues of local and national significance, Canada25 has chosen to develop a national youth service fellowship program as its first major action initiative. Originally developed as a key recommendation of Canada25’s first major policy paper Building Up: Making Canada’s Cities Magnets for Talent and Engines of Development, the Canada Service Corps is a national fellowship program that harnesses the skills and energies of young Canadians, aged 20-35, to strengthen the capacity of non-profit organizations to serve communities in Canada.
